Title: Employed full time: Usual weekly nominal earnings (first quartile): Wage and salary workers: 16 years and over: White Series ID: LEU0252912500A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 2000-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:06 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0252912500 DATE VALUE 2000-01-01 388 2001-01-01 405 2002-01-01 415 2003-01-01 422 2004-01-01 434 2005-01-01 445 2006-01-01 459 2007-01-01 478 2008-01-01 495 2009-01-01 502 2010-01-01 504 2011-01-01 510 2012-01-01 517 2013-01-01 523 2014-01-01 536 2015-01-01 551 2016-01-01 570 2017-01-01 591 2018-01-01 609 2019-01-01 628 2020-01-01 672 2021-01-01 693 2022-01-01 731 2023-01-01 769
