Title: Employed full time: Usual weekly nominal earnings (first decile): Wage and salary workers: 16 years and over: Black or African American: Men Series ID: LEU0252914000A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 2000-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:06 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0252914000 DATE VALUE 2000-01-01 277 2001-01-01 287 2002-01-01 286 2003-01-01 294 2004-01-01 295 2005-01-01 292 2006-01-01 300 2007-01-01 316 2008-01-01 327 2009-01-01 328 2010-01-01 337 2011-01-01 338 2012-01-01 334 2013-01-01 344 2014-01-01 339 2015-01-01 361 2016-01-01 375 2017-01-01 381 2018-01-01 395 2019-01-01 415 2020-01-01 438 2021-01-01 459 2022-01-01 509 2023-01-01 546
