Title: Employed full time: Median usual weekly nominal earnings (second quartile): Wage and salary workers: 16 to 19 years: Men Series ID: LEU0252886700A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 1979-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:06 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0252886700 DATE VALUE 1979-01-01 155 1980-01-01 162 1981-01-01 168 1982-01-01 170 1983-01-01 168 1984-01-01 174 1985-01-01 183 1986-01-01 186 1987-01-01 196 1988-01-01 205 1989-01-01 209 1990-01-01 218 1991-01-01 219 1992-01-01 218 1993-01-01 221 1994-01-01 228 1995-01-01 244 1996-01-01 251 1997-01-01 262 1998-01-01 281 1999-01-01 291 2000-01-01 306 2001-01-01 319 2002-01-01 312 2003-01-01 321 2004-01-01 318 2005-01-01 330 2006-01-01 348 2007-01-01 357 2008-01-01 369 2009-01-01 356 2010-01-01 355 2011-01-01 370 2012-01-01 373 2013-01-01 390 2014-01-01 392 2015-01-01 407 2016-01-01 419 2017-01-01 459 2018-01-01 471 2019-01-01 506 2020-01-01 513 2021-01-01 563 2022-01-01 632 2023-01-01 642
