Title: Employed full time: Median usual weekly nominal earnings (second quartile): Wage and salary workers: 25 years and over Series ID: LEU0252887700A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 1979-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:05 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0252887700 DATE VALUE 1979-01-01 265 1980-01-01 286 1981-01-01 308 1982-01-01 327 1983-01-01 343 1984-01-01 362 1985-01-01 379 1986-01-01 391 1987-01-01 403 1988-01-01 414 1989-01-01 427 1990-01-01 449 1991-01-01 467 1992-01-01 479 1993-01-01 491 1994-01-01 500 1995-01-01 510 1996-01-01 520 1997-01-01 540 1998-01-01 572 1999-01-01 592 2000-01-01 609 2001-01-01 630 2002-01-01 646 2003-01-01 662 2004-01-01 683 2005-01-01 696 2006-01-01 718 2007-01-01 738 2008-01-01 761 2009-01-01 774 2010-01-01 782 2011-01-01 797 2012-01-01 815 2013-01-01 827 2014-01-01 839 2015-01-01 860 2016-01-01 885 2017-01-01 907 2018-01-01 932 2019-01-01 969 2020-01-01 1029 2021-01-01 1057 2022-01-01 1123 2023-01-01 1170
