Title: Employed full time: Median usual weekly nominal earnings (second quartile): Wage and salary workers: 25 to 54 years: White Series ID: LEU0253204100A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 2000-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:06 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0253204100 DATE VALUE 2000-01-01 624 2001-01-01 654 2002-01-01 668 2003-01-01 680 2004-01-01 701 2005-01-01 715 2006-01-01 732 2007-01-01 752 2008-01-01 775 2009-01-01 789 2010-01-01 795 2011-01-01 809 2012-01-01 826 2013-01-01 835 2014-01-01 849 2015-01-01 868 2016-01-01 896 2017-01-01 919 2018-01-01 946 2019-01-01 982 2020-01-01 1037 2021-01-01 1068 2022-01-01 1136 2023-01-01 1188
