Title: Employed full time: Usual weekly nominal earnings (first decile): Wage and salary workers: 16 years and over: Asian Series ID: LEU0254871400A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 2000-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:06 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0254871400 DATE VALUE 2000-01-01 288 2001-01-01 304 2002-01-01 303 2003-01-01 305 2004-01-01 318 2005-01-01 330 2006-01-01 350 2007-01-01 358 2008-01-01 369 2009-01-01 372 2010-01-01 378 2011-01-01 378 2012-01-01 377 2013-01-01 389 2014-01-01 395 2015-01-01 404 2016-01-01 420 2017-01-01 445 2018-01-01 465 2019-01-01 499 2020-01-01 532 2021-01-01 576 2022-01-01 602 2023-01-01 642
