Title: Employed full time: Usual weekly nominal earnings (first quartile): Wage and salary workers: High School graduates, no college: 25 years and over: Black or African American Series ID: LEU0254939400A Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Release: Weekly and Hourly Earnings from the Current Population Survey (Not a Press Release) Seasonal Adjustment: Not Seasonally Adjusted Frequency: Annual Units: Dollars Date Range: 2000-01-01 to 2023-01-01 Last Updated: 2024-01-18 9:03 AM CST Notes: Data measure usual weekly earnings of wage and salary workers. Wage and salary workers are workers who receive wages, salaries, commissions, tips, payment in kind, or piece rates. The group includes employees in both the private and public sectors but, for the purposes of the earnings series, it excludes all self-employed persons, both those with incorporated businesses and those with unincorporated businesses. Usual weekly earnings represent earnings before taxes and other deductions and include any overtime pay, commissions, or tips usually received (at the main job in the case of multiple jobholders). Prior to 1994, respondents were asked how much they usually earned per week. Since January 1994, respondents have been asked to identify the easiest way for them to report earnings (hourly, weekly, biweekly, twice monthly, monthly, annually, or other) and how much they usually earn in the reported time period. Earnings reported on a basis other than weekly are converted to a weekly equivalent. The term "usual" is determined by each respondent's own understanding of the term. If the respondent asks for a definition of "usual," interviewers are instructed to define the term as more than half the weeks worked during the past 4 or 5 months. For more information see https://www.bls.gov/cps/earnings.htm The series comes from the 'Current Population Survey (Household Survey)' The source code is: LEU0254939400 DATE VALUE 2000-01-01 317 2001-01-01 333 2002-01-01 335 2003-01-01 357 2004-01-01 358 2005-01-01 359 2006-01-01 369 2007-01-01 381 2008-01-01 387 2009-01-01 393 2010-01-01 401 2011-01-01 399 2012-01-01 405 2013-01-01 409 2014-01-01 417 2015-01-01 416 2016-01-01 426 2017-01-01 446 2018-01-01 463 2019-01-01 491 2020-01-01 518 2021-01-01 554 2022-01-01 596 2023-01-01 621
