Credit is provided by domestic banks, all other sectors of the economy and non-residents. The "private non-financial sector" includes non-financial corporations (both private-owned and public-owned), households and non-profit institutionsserving households as defined in the System of National Accounts 2008. The series have quarterly frequency and capture the outstanding amount of credit at the end of the reference quarter. In terms of financial instruments, credit covers loans and debt securities.(1) The combination of different sources and data from various methodological frameworks resulted in breaks in the series. The BIS is therefore, in addition, publishing a second set of series adjusted for breaks, which covers the same time span as the unadjusted series. The break-adjusted series are the result of the BIS's own calculations, and were obtained by adjusting levels through standard statistical techniques described in the special feature on the long credit series of the March 2013 issue of the BIS Quarterly Review at https://www.bis.org/publ/qtrpdf/r_qt1303h.htm. • Persons, Weekly, Seasonally Adjusted 2010-01-02 to 2024-09-14 (Oct 30)

The January 2023 report presents the scheduled annual revision of the ADP National Employment Report (NER), which updates the data series to be consistent with the annual Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) benchmark data through March 2022. This is a recurring process that happens every year, and is a common practice for reports of this nature. In addition to this regular, annual update, the NER weighting methodology was revised to facilitate an easier comparison of total employment estimates between the NER and QCEW; monthly aggregates now leverage weekly seasonal adjustments rather than a separate monthly seasonal adjustment; and the national aggregate is now constructed from industry aggregates. There was also a refinement in the labeling methodology which is used to determine how various employment sources fall into a particular industry and geography definitions. These changes were applied retroactively to the 13-year history of the NER.

This series is constructed as the aggregated daily amount value of the RP transactions reported by the New York Fed as part of the Temporary Open Market Operations. Temporary open market operations involve short-term repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements that are designed to temporarily add or drain reserves available to the banking system and influence day-to-day trading in the federal funds market. A repurchase agreement (known as repo or RP) is a transaction in which the New York Fed under the authorization and direction of the Federal Open Maker Committee buys a security from an eligible counterparty under an agreement to resell that security in the future. For these transactions, eligible securities are U.S. Treasury instruments, federal agency debt and the mortgage-backed securities issued or fully guaranteed by federal agencies.
