Series Is Presented Here As Two Variables--(1)--Original Data, 1934-1953 (2)--Original Data, 1953-1964. These Estimates Include Security Offerings For "General Corporate Purposes," For Aquisition Of Property, Working Capital, Other Securities, And Repayment Of Debts That Are Not Securities (Bank Loans, Mortgages). Data Have Been Derived By Adding Securities Issued For "Repayment Of Other Debt" And For "Other Purposes." Data For The Months Of August, October And December Of 1942 Are Not Listed Because The Data For Each Of These Months Were Less Than $500,000. 1953 Figures Were Obtained From The Survey Of Current Business, February 1954, After Which One Figure Is Shown For Securities Issued For "Other Purposes" And For "Repayment Of Other Debt." However, The New Figure In Each Month Of 1953 Is Not Identical With The Sum Of The Earlier Figures. The Revisions Made In Addition To The Reclassification Have Not Been Explained.
