The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices category Gas (04.5.2) is a classification of nondurable goods and energy that includes town gas and natural gas, liquefied hydrocarbons (butane, propane, etc.), associated expenditure such as hire of meters, reading of meters, storage containers, standing charges, etc.
