Ellieroth and Michaud (EM) share of workers who leave the labor force due to a quit tracks the percentage of U.S. workers who transition from employment to non-participation after a quit compared to the total layoffs into non-employment. Since all quits end in either unemployment or non-participation, one minus this time series will be the share of workers who leave into unemployment due to a quit.
